The perfect Windows 8 Start Menu – Look No Further
Almost all Windows 8 users complain about the missing Start Menu in desktop mode. Every time you need a program, you have to either return to the tile view, search for it and run it directly or pin it to the taskbar.
This add on is well worth your the effort to install and get acquainted. The design is great, and installation and operation is intuitive. We have explored various third party start menu alternatives, but we looked no further when we found the Start Menu Reviver from ReviverSoft. There were a few problems with the initial 1.x version, but now with the release of Version 2, this is really an excellent add on to Windows 8.x.
The menu is easy to use and integrates well into Windows 8.x. It combines the Windows 8.x graphic design with Windows 7 start menu features. The initial look is pleasing to the eye, and functionality is excellent. Rumors have it that start menu functionality will be similar to that being worked on by Microsoft for Windows 10.
Quick search, shutdown, access to the control panel, and task manager are all graphically integrated in the menu. This is combined with an extendable feature where you can see all your desktop applications. Using setup you can customize the look and feel and choose which applications are listed. Other quick launch features are included as well. No doubt this is my favorite Windows 8.x Start Menu application.
You can also use this as an enhanced start menu for Windows 7 if you wish
NOTE: If you want a more traditional start menu on Windows 8, you can opt for the Classic Shell for a more traditional Start Menu experience.
