The Most Reliable Image Burn SW for your DVD Burner
We have all had bad experiences with software that was bundled with our new PC or laptop. Even the DVD or CD image burn software we bought at our favorite outlet may have proven to disappoint. Many of the commercial packages have additional software bundled with them that we simply don’t want. Most of the retail packages on the market today, are simply not worth what you pay for them. One of the best CD & DVD image burn software packages is free. I never use anything else.
You can create DVDs that you can play in your home entertainment system, create boot discs, data discs that can safely store backups, archives, disk images and copies, and more. ImgBurn from Lightning UK, is just the ticket. This lightweight, freeware, burns CDs, DVDs, HD-DVDs, and Blu-Ray discs (Of course, you will need a Blu-Ray burner to burn Blu-Ray discs).
ImgBurn simplify’s what can be a complicated and error-prone process!
Any good software package does not need an instruction manual, and ImgBurn is no exception. Operating ImgBurn is, for the most part, self explanatory. Just stick to the basic functions and you will not have any trouble. Guides for using the product is available if you need them. The video below from Download.com demonstrates the basic features of ImgBurn.
ImgBurn’s two-part interface displays controls and the program’s log file in separate windows. The Log window is designed to stay open all the time when the program is working, and it displays important information about the progress of the task underway. You can separate it from the main window and place it anywhere on your desktop.
The main window hints at how easy ImgBurn is to use by listing its features with descriptive icons:
- Write image file to disc
- Write files/folders to disc
- Create image file from disc
- Create image file from files/folders
- Verify disc
- Discovery
Discovery Mode
While I have never had a need to us it, ‘Discovery’ mode is useful if you want to put your drive or media to the test. This is used combination with either BurnPlot, DVDInfoPro orOpti Drive Control. With these packages you can check the quality of the burns your drive is producing.
ImgBurn offers Test Mode and Verify options as well as settings for Write Speed (including an automatic option) and number of copies. Advanced options include drive-specific settings with the ability to select your drive’s OEM options. ImgBurn also offers an erase tool, drive controls, and tools for creating CUE, DVD, and MDS files.
ImgBurn simplify’s what can be a complicated and error-prone process, and lives up to its promise of easy burning without sacrificing flexibility.
