Laptop WiFi Band Information
Recently upgraded your WiFi and wonder if your laptop is connected to this network. Just how do you find out “What WiFi Band Is My Laptop Using?“. There is no immediate way to find out using the “ipconfig /all” command. No worries just use the “netsh” command.
Open either the “Command Prompt” or the “Windows Power Shell”.
Enter “netsh wlan show interfaces” and press enter:The example above was done using the Windows Power Shell. In this case, you can see that this laptop is connected to the AC band with 99% signal strength. You can also determine the receive and transmit rate and the “SSID” of this wireless network. You can also determine that this device is using Channel 149 of this band.
The example above was done using the Command Prompt. In the example above you can see that this laptop is connected to the N band with 100% signal strength. You can also determine the receive and transmit rate and the “SSID” of this wireless network. You can also determine that this device is using Channel 1 of this band.
