Power User? Use God Mode in Windows 10

HotPcTips-Settings-Windows-10In Windows 10, Microsoft has created the “Settings” option that is quickly available from the Windows 10 icon at the lower left of your Task BarHot PC Tips Windows 10 Start. The new “Settings” feature was created in part, to make configuration easier for the average or novice user.

Remember, using the Alternate menu, you can quickly gain access to the traditional “Control Panel“.

If you fancy yourself a Power User, give this a try!

Try God Mode. This simple procedure will create a system shortcut that will give you access to all Control Panel items and more. This actually works on Windows 7 and 8, but in Windows 10 it brings all the options available from “Settings” and the “Control Panel“, and more.

  1. Create a new folder in your desktop, using the traditional method of “Right-click > New > Folder”
  2. Using Cut and Paste, rename the folder with this exact string of characters: “GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} (of course without the quotes).
  3. Press “Enter“, and instantly you have an icon to open all “God Mode” settings.

If you would like, you can rename this from God Mode to anything of your choice by replacing the text before the period with something else, such as “My Settings“, or you can edit the properties on the shortcut after the icon is created.

You can move/copy this shortcut to the start menu or “Quick Access” using the traditional “right click” method.
